Achean/Roman Gods
Zeus/Jupiter (N) The king of the Olympian gods, though not always obeyed as such, Zeus is the god of the sky, ruler of the clouds, rain, wind, thunder and mountain summits. His is the protector of laws, friend of the weak and dispenser of justice. His symbol is a fist with lightning bolts.
Ares/Mars (CE) God of battle, killing and fighting, Ares is the personification of the savagery of warfare. His symbol is a longsword.
Artemis/Diana (NG) Also known as The Huntress, she is patroness to young girls and mistress of beasts and all wild things. She will have nothing to do with men and often blames them for the trials that women must face. Her symbol is a bow and arrow on a lunar disc.
Athena/Minerva (LG) Athena is goddess of many things but is most noted for that of wise counsel and noble combat. Her priests dedicate themselves not only to the arts of fighting to combat the followers of Ares but must also become masters of peace. Her symbol is an owl.
Dionysus/Bacchus (CN) The god of wine embodies both the joy and pleasure of the drink as well as its brutality and madness. His symbol is a staff tipped with a pinecone and twined in vine.
Hephaestus/Vulcan (NG) God of blacksmithing and patron of artisans and craftsmen, Hephaestus has made many devices for both the Olympians and those mortals worthy of such otherworldly gifts. His symbol is a hammer and anvil.
Hermes/Mercury (CG) God of travelers, merchants and rogues, Hermes serves the Olympians as messenger and arbitrator of disputes. His symbol is the caduceus.
Apollo/Sol (CG) God of light, prophecy music and medicine he helps protect shepherds, cure illness and destroy pests. There are also many oracular shrines dedicated to him, the most famous being located in Delphi. His symbol is a lyre.
Poseidon/Neptune (CE) God of the seas and waterways, Poseidon also has the power to create new life and is said to be the creator of the bulls and horses. His symbol is a trident.
Hades/Pluto (LN) God of death and wealth, Hades has the power to bring either to any mortal. He alone, among the Olympians, has the right to restore life to the dead and he guards this right well. His symbol is a black ram.
Hecate (CE) Goddess of the moon, magic and plenty, she is the defender of children and the provider of abundance, whatever it may be. Her symbol is a setting moon.
